St Jude’s Ladies Team traveled to St Finian’s with the hope of taking the Division Cup title back southside. With a strengthened St Finian’s side the girl were under no illusion that this was going to be an easy game. A very strong wind dominated how the play went with St Finian’s notching up 1-8 at half time to 0-3 for St Jude’s. Granted that it was a very slow start from the St Jude’s ladies, some fantastic individual performances got the team motivated and scores started to go on the board. St Finian’s only managed to score 1 point which show the excellent work the backline did. There seemed to be a lack of creativity which is normally there but St Jude’s managed to notch up 1-5 in the second half which gave the final score line: St Finian’s 1-09 St Jude’s 1-08.
This unfortunately means that the girls loose their 100% record in the competition but are still on top of the table. Depending on result within the group St Jude’s will either take the title or will have to face St Finian’s again in a play-off final.
St Jude’s are now also in Junior B Championship Semi – Final Vs Portobello on the 23/7/08 so there is all to play for in the Division Cup, League, and Championship.
