Feile 2010 - U14 Football

While not returning with the coveted Féile title, St. Judes Ladies done themselves proud by their achievements in the competition recently, performances that the club but most importantly the players can be proud of.

Backed by a strong panel of 30, this group of girls have always equipped themselves in every situation with great belief and determination. Going into this competition, the girls felt quietly confident that they would be going far. On the Saturday, we played some of our best football yet, dismissing opponent after opponent with ease with fast-paced energetic football. Our exit at the hands of a very tough St. Sylvesters side will do nothing but strengthen our resolve and bring us up to that level sooner.

This group are still in their infancy but are coming along fast. The girls themselves will acknowledge the work that still is ahead but the challenge has now been set. It's encouraging to see such great levels of support over the weekend. The family is the core base of the GAA and that backing is essential to keep these girls not only playing but providing a positive attitude towards the team. Many thanks to all who supported and contributed over the weekend, especially Ann Kilcoyne. On a personal level, I wish to thank Aisling Kilcoyne, Eoin McLoughlin and Eoin Walsh for all their work and assistance. These are 3 coaches for the future in Judes.

In conclusion, I am and have always been proud of each of the 30 girls and how they've gone about their business both on and off the field. They are the centre of what we do and one can never forget that. In the 18 months we've been together, we've developed into a team that have no fear of any. In a further 18 months, if the girls are willing to accept the challenges we face, who knows how far we can go. The Féile is but one weekend. Now we look ahead.
