October 26, 2016
Well done to the Senior
footballers on an excellent and commanding victory over Kilmacud Crokes in the
county 1/4 final last week. There is no time for rest however as they are
straight into semi final action against Castleknock on Thursday in Parnell at
7.30.
We hope to see a large
Judes following as we attempt to reach our 2nd ever county football final!
Night
in Honour of Eamon Treacy
We are organising a Presentation Night in honour of Eamonn Treacy on Thursday
next, 27th October 2016, from 9:00 p.m. in the Lakeside Lounge on the occasion
of his retirement as Principal of Bishop Galvin N.S.
Eamonn played hurling with St Jude's in his heyday and also mentored a team in the club back in the day. As Principal of BGNS, Eamonn always supported St Jude's and indeed many of our players, both past and present, came through his tutelage.
We are hoping for a crowd on the night - from parents of present/past pupils of BGNS to former pupils/players who were mentored by Eamonn. All are welcome. Obviously, most of you will be in Parnell Park earlier that evening supporting our Senior Football team but please pop into the club afterwards to pay tribute to Eamonn.
Shinty Representation
Congrats to Aoife Walsh +
Faye McCarthy who were part of the Dublin Camogie side that beat Scotland in
Inverness in a Shinty Exhibition as part of the Ireland v Scotland Shinty
game.
Also best of luck to Faye who has been nominated for the National Junior Camogie 'Soaring Star' award which will be awarded on the night of the National Camogie All-Stars on Nov 5.
Inter Footballers
Hard luck to our
Intermediate footballers who were narrowly defeated by a strong Ballymun team
on Sunday in O'Toole Park. The lads had an outstanding championship run and
just well narrowly short in a well contested game. No doubt they will be back
next year.
Juvenile Finals
Well done to our u14 Boys Footballers who completed the league and Féile double under the management of the great Merv O'Boyle and Mick Danaher.
Hard luck two our U13A and U14 Camogie who were beaten in both of their Championship finals, these two teams will definitely back next year competing for the winners medal.
