Congratulations to Hannah Hegarty and Katie Mahon who have been selected for the Dublin Minor Ladies Football team and to Faye McCarthy, Marion O’Donnell, Ellen Joyce and Hannah Hegarty who are part of the Dublin Minor Camogie team for the season ahead.

Both Hannah and Katie were part of the County Minors that won the Leinster title last May before being defeated by Galway in the All-Ireland Semi-Final. Katie’s creative style of play and skill belongs to the highest level of provincial football and she will be a great addition this season, balancing, as she is, her football and the Leaving Cert.

Faye, Marion and Ellen have all previous experience at County level in Camogie. Faye is a goalkeeper of immense skill and her puck outs are gaining legendary status (seriously, they’re that good!!). Marion is a determined defender and never gives up in the big games. She captained her club side to Feile success in 2011 and led her Minor side to victory in the 2014 Development League. Ellen has emerged more and more in recent years and her style of play on the field makes her a player to watch in the coming years. She will be eyeing a starting position on the County side this season.

No Dublin Ladies Football or Camogie team has previously been captained by a St. Jude’s player. Hannah Hegarty will be changing that record by captaining BOTH County sides in 2015. To those who know her, it is of no surprise that she has been selected to lead her county and her time as captain of her club Ladies Football side in U15, U16 and twice in Minor as well as a 2-year stint as Camogie Captain will aid her along. She will bring a depth of knowledge, dedication and ambition to the role. No doubt, she will be incredibly proud leading out her county as a St. Jude’s player.

Congratulations to all the above from a very proud club.
